Logo and Graphics Define Your Brand

“Your logo is a visual representation of everything your company stands for.”
– Entrepreneur magazine, Start Your Own Business, 2001

A happy smile is the visual representation of orthodonture done right, wouldn’t you agree? What better symbol could LOA possibly have chosen than a smiling face!

If you don’t know what LOA is, you probably haven’t been in Lancaster County recently. Their highly recognizable logo can be seen on billboards and buildings, as well as on sponsorship materials for a lot of wonderful community organizations. We’ll talk about the value of community involvement for your business a bit later. For now, let’s look at logo and branding.

We didn’t ask why Lancaster Orthodontic Associates choose a smiley face to represent their brand, but we didn’t have to. It makes sense. Their staff embodies the smiley brand: friendly, competent and ready to help. Even Tippy the dog is brand-consistent. When he’s out sunning himself, saying hello and giving him a pat is sure to bring a smile to your face. A brand, for any business, is the total package of logo, message, people, and products working together to create an experience.

There’s no denying an immediate identification with the smiley face image. We’re not suggesting that every time you see an emoji you think of LOA, but there is undoubtedly a high level of recognition and a strong psychological message.

H&H recently had the opportunity to produce and install vinyl graphics (designed by FIG) for two of LOA’s locations. We witnessed the graphics in development, getting their final tweaking and being packed up. We knew what to expect when we went to see the final install. And still, when we arrived infectious smiles broke out on our faces. It made this writer happy to see those smiles greeting us. The LOA brand is reinforced through this imagery again and again, not just on their buildings but all around the county.

Community involvement was mentioned earlier. When a business is heavily invested in the success and future of a community, it pays dividends in many ways. Did someone say “pay it forward”? The H&H Group’s support of Lancaster’s businesses and non-profits is well known. LOA also does amazing things for organizations in the county. Being invested in the community and having a heart for people is not only good for the soul but makes good business sense.

“The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.” – Coretta Scott King
